What are your expectations for UAV Show?
As a young company incubated by Bordeaux Technowest, we are taking part in UAV Show to meet security and defence stakeholders facing the drone threat: law enforcement agencies, operators of sensitive sites, security companies and system integrators.
We want to showcase our solution in real-world conditions, engage with end users and potential partners, and establish ourselves as a long-term part of the French and European drone ecosystem.
What new products and/or solutions will you be showcasing?
We will be presenting SkyKraken, a portable drone detection system. It detects, identifies and locates the pilot on the ground through passive reception, without requiring any infrastructure, and can be deployed in less than five minutes.
Using a multi-layer approach (RF, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), it automatically assesses the level of threat, manages protected areas and generates a time-stamped evidence file that can be used by an authorised authority.
Our key differentiator is making drone detection portable and accessible, whereas existing systems are often fixed and costly.
In your view, what are the current and future challenges facing the drone industry?
The first challenge is the asymmetry between the threat and the means available to detect it: the threat is evolving faster than detection capabilities.
Remote ID is a legal requirement that malicious operators can circumvent, while autonomous drones and fibre-optic-controlled drones, which are silent in terms of radio frequency, represent the next major challenge.
The second challenge is accessibility. Counter-drone protection remains largely limited to major sites able to invest several hundred thousand euros, even though the threat now affects all types of organisations.
In our view, democratising drone detection — making it mobile, affordable and operational in the field — will be key in the years ahead.
