M1 is an ESTACA student project aimed at developing a 1.2 m, sub-25 kg remotely piloted supersonic drone, with a target speed of 1,200 km/h. By comparison, the current world record in this category stands at 750 km/h. The project covers aerodynamic and structural design, propulsion, the launch catapult, and the parachute recovery system. It also includes the development of onboard systems, command and telemetry systems, as well as regulatory studies, risk analysis, and the definition of procedures required for flight testing. The prototype presented at UAV Show is built at a 1:2 scale.
